Pre-Construction AI Platform MeltPlan Raises $10 Million Seed Round Led by Bessemer Venture Partners

MeltPlan

The construction industry has long been characterised by reactive decision making, escalating costs, and late stage corrections that erode project margins and timelines. A significant portion of these challenges originates not on the construction site, but in the planning phase where critical decisions are made without adequate data, foresight, or analytical rigour. MeltPlan, a pre construction artificial intelligence platform, is positioned to change that. The company has raised $10 million in a seed funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from noa, bringing its total funding to $14 million.

Filling the Missing Layer in Construction Technology

Founded in 2025 by Kanav Hasija and Tanmaya Kala, MeltPlan was built around a clear observation: the construction technology ecosystem has two dominant software categories – design tools that optimise aesthetics and spatial use, and construction management tools that govern execution and site control. What remains largely absent is intelligent software that supports high stakes decision making upstream, before procurement commences, scope is finalised, and costly change orders become unavoidable. MeltPlan aims to occupy precisely this space, functioning as a construction native AI system that comprehends building codes, materials, procurement logic, sequencing, and construction methodologies.

The Planning Engine: A Four System Architecture

The proceeds from this funding round will be directed towards the development of MeltPlan’s Planning Engine — an integrated decision support framework comprising four distinct systems. The code system delivers context aware compliance pathways tailored for architects, engineers, and building inspectors. The cost system and schedule system provide structured financial and timeline intelligence, while the value system equips owners and developers with impact analysis and optimisation recommendations. Notably, MeltPlan’s AI has already demonstrated strong domain competence, achieving scores of 95 per cent or higher on building inspector examinations.

Early Traction and Enterprise Adoption

Despite being a young company, MeltPlan has already secured partnerships with established enterprise contractors. It is actively working with DPR Construction in California and Innovo Group in the United Arab Emirates, supporting their pre construction and planning operations. This early enterprise traction signals that the platform’s value proposition resonates with seasoned industry professionals who understand the cost of poor planning first hand.

A Vision to Make Construction Predictable

MeltPlan’s broader ambition is to make construction planning more disciplined surfacing constraints and trade offs early, aligning stakeholders before plans are locked, and substantially reducing the frequency of late stage revisions and rework. In an industry where change orders and budget overruns are routinely accepted as inevitable, MeltPlan’s approach represents a meaningful departure from convention.
