Innefu Labs, one of India’s most prominent indigenous artificial intelligence companies operating in the national and cyber security domain, has announced the successful closure of a $30 million Series B funding round. The investment was led by Panthera Growth Partners, a Singapore based growth equity firm, and was structured through a combination of new and secondary transactions drawn from Panthera’s second fund. The raised capital, equivalent to approximately Rs 286 crore, signals strong institutional confidence in India’s indigenous defence technology sector.
This milestone marks a defining moment not only for Innefu Labs as an organisation but also for India’s broader ambition of building a self reliant, domestically driven artificial intelligence ecosystem capable of addressing the country’s most sensitive security challenges.
A Vision Rooted in Technological Sovereignty
Established in 2010 by co-founders Tarun Wig and Abhishek Sharma, Innefu Labs was built on a singular conviction — that India must develop and own the technologies that protect its institutions, people, and digital infrastructure. Over the past fifteen years, the company has translated that conviction into tangible outcomes, deploying AI-powered platforms across more than 100 installations spanning India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
Its clientele reflects the depth and sensitivity of its operations, encompassing defence and intelligence agencies, law enforcement bodies, financial intelligence units, BFSI institutions, and Fortune 500 corporations. This breadth of deployment across high stakes environments has established Innefu Labs as a trusted name in mission critical AI solutions.
Strategic Deployment of Capital
The freshly raised capital will be channelled across several key growth priorities. Foremost among these is the strengthening and scaling of Innefu Labs’ core AI platform, which underpins its suite of national security offerings. Alongside this, the company plans to establish a dedicated Physical AI and Robotics division, signalling its intent to extend its capabilities beyond software into autonomous physical systems.
Equally significant is the company’s commitment to developing sovereign, India focused language models — AI systems specifically engineered for sensitive, classified, and high security use cases where dependence on foreign technology platforms is not a viable or acceptable option.
Preparing for Public Markets
The Series B round has been deliberately structured to position Innefu Labs for an initial public offering, particularly after its early and demonstrable success in Middle Eastern markets. Panthera Growth Partners, recognising the company’s proprietary technology stack, deep domain expertise, and proven track record in high stakes environments, views this investment as a partnership oriented towards long term public market readiness.
Shilpa Kulkarni, Founder and Managing Partner of Panthera Growth Partners, reaffirmed this outlook, noting that the firm’s decision was grounded in Innefu’s native AI powered software, its ability to address critical national defence challenges, and its established presence in mission critical security infrastructure.
As India accelerates its pursuit of technological leadership in defence and security, Innefu Labs stands as a compelling example of what indigenous innovation, sustained research, and strategic capital can achieve together. The road ahead, by all accounts, is one of considerable ambition and national significance.
