Quick commerce platform Zepto has officially launched the sale of Apple products on its app, responding to the growing demand for premium electronics in India. The assortment includes the latest iPhone 16E, AirPods, Apple Watches, iPads, MagSafe accessories, and charging devices, all promised to be delivered within just 10 minutes.
This move follows a surge in interest, as Zepto recorded over a million searches for Apple products in just two months, according to its co-founder and CEO, Aadit Palicha. Sharing his excitement on LinkedIn, Palicha wrote, “In the last 60 days, we had over a million searches from customers for Apple device products on Zepto. We listened!”
The decision to introduce Apple products also comes just two weeks after Blinkit announced its expansion into delivering Apple products beyond iPhones. Zepto had previously experimented with offering the iPhone 16 during its launch last year, which saw considerable interest.
In the competitive quick commerce sector, electronics have emerged as one of the fastest-growing categories, with mobile phones, particularly premium brands like Apple, playing a key role. Offering high-value products like iPhones helps increase average order values (AOVs), potentially reducing Zepto’s significant monthly cash burn, estimated at ₹300-350 crore.
Additionally, Zepto is preparing to list on the Indian stock exchanges, having recently completed a reverse flip of its domicile from Singapore to India. Chief Financial Officer Ramesh Bafna described the transition on LinkedIn as a “historic completion in record time” and highlighted the team’s ability to navigate complex technicalities and execute efficiently. The company is expected to file its initial public offering (IPO) documents with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) by April.
With its expanding product range and strategic market moves, Zepto aims to strengthen its position in India’s dynamic quick commerce industry.
