HrdWyr Secures $13 Million Series A from Ideaspring Capital and Strategic Investors to Scale AI Chip Portfolio

HrdWyr, a global fabless semiconductor company, has successfully closed a $13 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Ideaspring Capital, with participation from Singularity AMC, Avatar Growth Capital, and Persistent Systems. The capital infusion is set to accelerate the company’s AI based System-on-Chip (AISoC) product development and strengthen its foothold in key global markets.

Redefining the Semiconductor Stack for the Physical AI Era

At the heart of HrdWyr’s vision is a fundamental rethinking of how computing systems are designed and deployed. The company operates under what it calls the TEA framework — an approach that places AI processing at the core of chip architecture rather than treating it as an add on feature. Founder and CEO Ramamurthy Sivakumar has consistently emphasised that the transition to Physical AI demands a structural reset of the semiconductor stack, where chips are conceived from first principles to handle intelligent, real time workloads.

As a fabless company, HrdWyr focuses exclusively on chip design, targeting applications across consumer electronics, electric vehicles, industrial machinery, and data centres. Its AISoC products are engineered to process AI tasks directly on the device, significantly reducing latency, improving energy efficiency, and minimising dependence on cloud infrastructure.

Investor Confidence and Strategic Alignment

The composition of this funding round reflects strong institutional confidence in HrdWyr’s direction. Ideaspring Capital’s Managing Partner and Founder, Naganand Doraswamy, highlighted the strategic importance of building semiconductor products from India for global consumption. Persistent Systems, founded by Dr. Anand Deshpande, underscored the increasing convergence of semiconductors, data, and intelligent software as a driving force behind their investment decision.

Avatar Growth Capital’s Partner, Rajiv Gupta, noted HrdWyr’s capital efficient progression from concept to tape out and wafer out as a distinguishing factor, alongside the company’s deep IP ownership and purpose built chip architecture.

A Growing Customer Ecosystem

HrdWyr has also established a design partnership with boAt, the well known Indian audio and wearable brand, signalling its growing relevance among domestic original equipment manufacturers. This collaboration reflects the broader opportunity for Indian semiconductor firms to help OEMs reduce supply chain dependencies and accelerate product development cycles.

With fresh capital, experienced leadership, and a differentiated product philosophy, HrdWyr appears well positioned to contribute meaningfully to the global AI semiconductor landscape and to India’s ambitions of becoming a serious player in chip design.
