Adani Group Chairman Launches Nationwide ‘Vande Bharatam’ Initiative to Identify, Nurture, and Empower Startup Talent Across India

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, has launched the Vande Bharatam Initiative — a comprehensive nationwide program aimed at identifying, nurturing, and empowering startup founders, innovators, and problem-solvers from every corner of India. Announced to mark his 64th birthday, the initiative reflects a deep commitment to democratizing entrepreneurial opportunity across the country’s diverse landscape.

A Nation Wide Outreach

The Vande Bharatam Initiative is designed to be truly inclusive in its reach. Covering all 36 states and union territories, more than 800 districts, and multiple Indian languages, the program seeks to bridge the long-standing gap between metropolitan startup ecosystems and the untapped talent residing in smaller towns, rural areas, and tribal communities. Unlike conventional startup programs that tend to favor candidates from urban centers, Vande Bharatam extends its invitation to every individual with a compelling idea, regardless of their age, educational background, professional experience, or geographic location.

Who Can Apply

The initiative welcomes participants from a wide spectrum of backgrounds. Whether one holds a business idea at the conceptual stage, a working prototype, a nascent startup, or an already operational enterprise, all are eligible to apply. Importantly, applicants are not required to have a registered startup. Priority sectors include technology, manufacturing, sustainability, agriculture, traditional crafts, and community development projects. The program also places special emphasis on encouraging women entrepreneurs, rural innovators, tribal founders, and persons with disabilities (Divyang) to come forward and present solutions to local and national challenges.

The Selection Journey

Applications will be evaluated on the basis of innovation, business potential, social impact, and scalability. Following state and regional rounds, 75 finalists will be selected and invited to Ahmedabad for an immersive program comprising mentorship sessions, interactions with industry experts, investor meetings, and strategic guidance. Finalists stand to gain access to incubation centers, long-term mentorship networks, and category wise prizes and awards, the full details of which are yet to be announced.

A Grand Finale Around Independence Day

The program is set to conclude with a Grand Finale timed around India’s Independence Day, establishing a lasting platform that connects participants with mentors, investors, and fellow innovators well beyond the competition itself.

Reflecting on the initiative, Adani remarked that India faces no shortage of talent — only a shortage of opportunity. Vande Bharatam is his effort to change that, one founder at a time.
