Agnikul Cosmos, a Chennai based space technology venture, has successfully closed a ₹67 crore funding round comprising equity and debt investments. This capital raise represents a crucial milestone for the startup as it prepares to scale its operations and advance toward commercial launch readiness.
Strategic Investment Structure
The funding round was structured with ₹60 crore raised through equity instruments, with equal contributions of ₹30 crore each from Advenza Global and Atharva Green Ecotech LLP. Additionally, Pratithi Investments provided ₹7 crore through debt financing. This marks Agnikul’s first major capital infusion since its ₹200 crore Series B round in 2023, which was led by Celesta Capital, Rocketship.vc , and Artha Venture Fund.
Technological Innovation at the Core
Since its establishment in 2017 by Srinath Ravichandran and Moin SPM, Agnikul Cosmos has focused on democratizing space access through cost effective launch solutions. The company’s primary vehicle, Agnibaan, is an 18 meter long, two stage rocket designed to deploy payloads of up to 300 kilograms into low Earth orbits at approximately 700 kilometers altitude.
What distinguishes Agnikul in the competitive space launch market is its proprietary Agnilet engine claimed to be the world’s first fully 3D printed, single piece semi cryogenic rocket engine. This technological breakthrough potentially reduces manufacturing complexity and costs while maintaining performance standards.

Infrastructure and Market Position
Agnikul has established itself among the select private Indian companies operating launch facilities near the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) at Sriharikota. The company’s private launchpad and dedicated mission control center provide operational independence crucial for commercial launch services.
Financial Trajectory and Future Outlook
While the company reported revenues of ₹9 crore against losses of ₹43 crore in FY24, this financial profile is typical for capital intensive space technology ventures in their pre commercial phase. The fresh capital will reportedly be allocated toward manufacturing capacity expansion, testing facility enhancements, and preparations for commercial launch operations.
With its upcoming Agnibaan SOrTeD mission designed to validate key technologies, Agnikul Cosmos is positioning itself to capture opportunities in the growing small satellite launch market, contributing to India’s expanding private space ecosystem.
