Bengaluru based defence technology startup Unmannd has successfully closed a $2 million pre seed funding round, representing a milestone achievement in India’s growing defence innovation ecosystem. The investment round was jointly led by prominent venture capital firms Speciale Invest and Accel, marking a strong vote of confidence in the company’s innovative approach to aerial defence systems.
Rapid Progress in Defence Innovation
Established in 2025 by entrepreneurs Yeshwanth Reddy and Hemaditya Prasad, Unmannd has demonstrated remarkable progress within a short timeframe. The startup has already obtained qualification credentials to supply drone technology to the Indian defence forces, a notable achievement for a company in its inaugural year. This certification underscores the technical sophistication and reliability of their products.
Strategic Deployment of Capital
According to CEO Yeshwanth Reddy, the newly acquired capital will serve multiple strategic objectives. The primary focus remains on commercializing Titan, the company’s aerial logistics platform that has completed its development phase. With qualification from Indian defence forces secured, Unmannd anticipates finalizing supply contracts in the near future.
The funding will simultaneously support the advancement of Fury, an interceptor system currently transitioning from proof of concept to market ready status. This system incorporates sophisticated detection capabilities, identifying potential threats at distances up to 30 kilometers. The interceptor drones deployed by Fury achieve operational speeds of 300 kilometers per hour, providing rapid response capabilities against aerial threats.
Expansion and Growth Strategy
Beyond product development, Unmannd plans to allocate resources toward expanding its engineering workforce, essential for maintaining innovation momentum and meeting anticipated demand. The company has also outlined preliminary strategies for entering international markets, positioning itself to compete in the global defence technology arena.

Prashanth Prakash, Partner at Accel, emphasized the transformative nature of current defence industry developments. He highlighted the paradigm shift toward autonomous systems capable of learning, adapting, and executing independent decision making processes. This technological evolution represents the foundation for next generation defence capabilities.
Unmannd’s emergence reflects India’s growing prominence in indigenous defence manufacturing and the increasing sophistication of homegrown technology solutions addressing national security requirements.
