Bengaluru Based Climate Tech Startup Equilibrium Secures $3 Million Seed Investment

Equilibrium

Investment momentum in climate technology remains robust as companies pioneer novel solutions to tackle pressing environmental issues. Equilibrium, a Bengaluru based climate tech company, recently closed a $3 million seed funding round, demonstrating investor confidence in nature based carbon removal solutions.

Strategic Investor Partnership

The funding round was led by three prominent venture capital firms: Kalaari Capital, Avaana Capital, and Peak XV Partners. This collaboration brings together investors with deep expertise in scaling technology companies within the Indian market. The strategic partnership positions Equilibrium to accelerate its mission of strengthening agricultural resilience while simultaneously addressing carbon emissions.

Comprehensive Approach to Carbon Removal

Founded in 2024 by Siddhanth Jayaram, Equilibrium distinguishes itself through an integrated business model that addresses multiple environmental and social challenges. The company operates across various carbon removal methodologies, including agroforestry initiatives, regenerative farming practices, mangrove planting projects, and biochar production. This diversified approach reduces risk while maximizing environmental impact.

The startup’s technology platform enables comprehensive monitoring and verification of carbon removal projects, addressing critical concerns around transparency and accountability in carbon credit markets. Their operations team manages plantation activities while digital systems track progress and validate carbon removal outcomes.

Impact and Future Outlook

Equilibrium’s current portfolio spans eight active projects across multiple regions, benefiting over 60,000 farmers and coastal communities. The company’s long term projections indicate potential removal of more than 20 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent, representing substantial climate impact.

The fresh capital will enable technology enhancement, project acceleration, and operational expansion. As corporate demand for verified carbon removal continues growing, particularly among technology companies and industrial firms pursuing net zero commitments, Equilibrium’s position in this expanding market appears promising.

The funding success reflects broader trends in climate technology investment, where solutions combining environmental benefits with economic opportunities for rural communities are gaining traction. Equilibrium’s model demonstrates how climate action can create value across multiple stakeholder groups while contributing to global emission reduction goals.
