Shikhar Dhawan’s Yashaa Global Capital Secures ADGM License to Launch $75 Mn Sports-Focused Fund

Yashaa Global Capital, co-founded by Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, has obtained the Financial Services Permission (FSP) from the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). This approval enables the firm to launch its maiden fund, targeting $75 million in investments.

Initially launched as Da One Global Ventures, Yashaa Global Capital aims to support early to growth-stage startups in sports tech, fitness, wellness, esports, and media platforms. The firm plans to invest $1-5 million in Asian startups, with 30% allocated to Indian startups.

Bridging the Gap in Asia’s Sports Investment Market

Yashaa Global Capital’s co-founder Mohammed Sirajuddin noted the lack of dedicated sports-focused venture capital funds in Asia. The firm aims to establish itself as a leader in this sector, investing in startups that leverage technology and data analytics to advance the sports ecosystem.

Investment Philosophy and Future Plans

Dhawan‘s investment approach draws from his cricketing experience, emphasizing strategy, resilience, and adaptability. The firm plans to scale to a larger Fund II and establish accelerators across Asia to nurture sports-focused startups.

The launch of Yashaa Global Capital coincides with the expected growth of India’s sports tech market, projected to expand by 85% over the next four years. The firm aims to create a sustainable sports ecosystem, supporting startups and redefining sports and esports investments across Asia.
