Google Partners with Reliance to Offer 18-Month Complimentary AI Pro Subscription to Jio 5G Users

Reliance

In a groundbreaking move to expand artificial intelligence accessibility across India, Google has entered into a strategic alliance with Reliance Industries Limited to provide complimentary AI Pro subscriptions to Jio Unlimited 5G customers. This initiative represents a significant milestone in making advanced AI technology available to millions of Indian consumers.

Under this partnership, eligible Jio subscribers will receive free access to premium AI services for eighteen months, with benefits valued at approximately ₹35,100 per user. The rollout strategy prioritizes younger demographics initially, targeting users between 18 and 25 years of age before extending the offer to all qualifying Jio customers nationwide.

Comprehensive AI and Cloud Solutions

The subscription package provides access to Google’s sophisticated Gemini 2.5 Pro model through the dedicated Gemini application, enabling users to leverage cutting-edge conversational AI capabilities. Additionally, subscribers gain access to innovative content creation platforms, including Nano Banana for artificial intelligence powered image generation and Veo 3.1 for advanced video production tools.

Educational and research capabilities receive substantial enhancement through extended NotebookLM access, positioning this offering as particularly valuable for students, researchers, and professionals seeking AI-assisted learning and documentation tools. The package also includes a generous 2 TB cloud storage allocation distributed across Google’s ecosystem, encompassing Google Photos, Gmail, Drive, and WhatsApp backup functionality on Android devices.

Activation and Strategic Context

Subscribers can activate these benefits seamlessly through the MyJio application, ensuring straightforward access to the comprehensive suite of services. This collaboration extends beyond immediate consumer benefits, aligning with Reliance’s broader artificial intelligence ambitions announced earlier this year.

The partnership builds upon Reliance’s establishment of a dedicated AI division in collaboration with Google and Meta, focusing on developing foundational AI models, constructing robust computing infrastructure, and implementing scalable AI solutions throughout Reliance’s digital portfolio.

This initiative positions India at the forefront of consumer AI adoption, potentially creating one of the world’s largest deployments of advanced artificial intelligence tools. By combining Jio’s extensive subscriber network with Google’s technological expertise, both organizations demonstrate commitment to digital transformation and technological empowerment across diverse Indian demographics.
