Apple Expands Fitness+ Service to 28 Countries Including India, Announces Competitive Pricing

Fitness+

The digital health and wellness sector in India is poised to receive a significant boost as Apple prepares to introduce its Fitness+ service on December 15, 2025. This strategic expansion represents the company’s most substantial international rollout since the platform’s initial launch five years ago, encompassing 28 additional countries and establishing presence in 49 markets worldwide.

Competitive Pricing Strategy for Indian Consumers

Apple has structured its pricing model to appeal to the Indian market, offering monthly subscriptions at ₹149 and annual plans at ₹999. The subscription model includes family sharing functionality, allowing the primary subscriber to extend access to five additional household members. This approach positions the service competitively within India’s growing digital fitness ecosystem, which has witnessed remarkable expansion in recent years.

Comprehensive Workout Portfolio

Fitness+ delivers a diverse array of 12 workout disciplines designed to accommodate varying fitness levels and preferences. The platform encompasses Strength training, Yoga, High Intensity Interval Training, Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing, and Meditation practices. Session durations span from five minute quick workouts to comprehensive 45 minute training modules, providing flexibility for users with different schedules and commitments.

The service operates seamlessly across Apple’s device ecosystem, including iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV platforms, ensuring accessibility regardless of user preference. Integration with Apple Music enhances the workout experience through curated playlists spanning multiple genres, with the recent addition of K-pop music catering to diverse musical preferences.

Enhanced User Experience Features

Apple has implemented several innovations to improve user engagement. The platform now offers digitally dubbed workout and meditation content in Spanish and German, with Japanese language support scheduled for early next year. These dubbed versions utilize generated voice technology modeled on the actual voices of 28 Fitness+ trainers, maintaining authenticity while expanding accessibility.

Custom workout plans represent another significant feature, offering three distinct approaches: Stay Consistent provides a premade schedule fitting specific routines, Push Further adds additional workout time or sessions for those seeking greater challenges, and Get Started offers a ready made plan for newcomers based on their selected activities. Users can also compare their effort levels with others who have completed identical workouts, fostering a sense of community engagement.

Promotional Incentives

To encourage adoption, Apple offers a three month complimentary subscription to customers purchasing eligible hardware, including Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2 from authorized retailers. This promotional strategy aims to integrate Fitness+ into the broader Apple ecosystem experience.

As India continues embracing digital wellness solutions, Apple’s entry into this segment signals growing confidence in the market’s potential and consumer readiness for premium fitness technology platforms.
