Neuron Energy

The Indian electric vehicle sector continues to attract significant investment as battery manufacturer Neuron Energy announces the successful completion of its Pre-Series B funding round. The company has raised Rs 31 crore in capital, marking another milestone in its journey to become a dominant player in the country’s rapidly expanding clean mobility landscape.

Strategic Investment from Prominent Backers

Equanimity Ventures spearheaded this latest funding round, demonstrating continued confidence in Neuron Energy’s growth trajectory and technological capabilities. The investment round also attracted participation from established financial entities including the Rajiv Dadlani Group, Thackersay Family Office, and Chona Family Office, alongside several high net worth individuals who recognize the potential in India’s electric vehicle battery sector.

This Pre-Series B round represents a significant vote of confidence in Neuron Energy’s business model and market positioning. With this fresh capital infusion, the company’s cumulative fundraising now stands at Rs 80 crore since its establishment in 2018, providing a solid financial foundation for its ambitious expansion plans.

Ambitious Expansion and Infrastructure Development

The newly acquired funds will be channeled toward several critical growth initiatives designed to strengthen Neuron Energy’s market position. The company plans to substantially enhance its manufacturing capacity to 3 gigawatt hours, a move that will enable it to meet the surging demand for EV batteries across multiple vehicle segments.

A cornerstone of this expansion strategy involves establishing a state of the art automated manufacturing facility in Chakan, located near Pune. This facility will specifically focus on producing batteries for electric four wheelers, representing the company’s strategic diversification beyond its traditional two wheeler battery business. The emphasis on automation reflects Neuron Energy’s commitment to operational efficiency, quality control, and scalability.

Additionally, the investment will bolster research and development efforts, enabling the company to innovate and refine its battery technologies. These funds will also support penetration into both domestic markets and international territories, positioning Neuron Energy as a global competitor in the battery manufacturing space.

Comprehensive Product Portfolio and Market Strategy

Since its inception in 2018 under the leadership of founder and CEO Pratik Kamdar, Neuron Energy has developed a diverse range of battery solutions. The company manufactures lead acid batteries, advanced lithium ion systems, and next generation sodium ion batteries, catering to various segments of the electric mobility ecosystem.

While Neuron Energy initially concentrated on the two wheeler EV battery market, the company has strategically expanded its focus to include four wheelers and buses. This diversification strategy positions the company to capitalize on growth opportunities across the entire electric vehicle spectrum, from personal mobility solutions to public transportation infrastructure.

Aggressive Revenue Projections Signal Confidence

Neuron Energy has set ambitious financial targets that underscore its growth potential. The company aims to achieve Rs 200 crore in revenue during the current fiscal year, with longer term projections reaching Rs 900 crore. These targets reflect both the expanding market opportunity in India’s EV sector and the company’s increasing production capabilities.

CEO Pratik Kamdar emphasized the company’s commitment to scaling operations while maintaining high standards of performance and reliability. As electric vehicle adoption accelerates nationwide, Neuron Energy’s enhanced capacity and technological capabilities position it to serve this growing market effectively.

The successful completion of this funding round demonstrates investor confidence in India’s electric mobility transition and Neuron Energy’s role in supporting this transformation through robust, locally manufactured battery solutions.
