Tribe Stays has emerged as a key player in India’s evolving managed living landscape, securing $2.8 million in seed capital to accelerate its growth trajectory. The investment, which amounts to Rs 24 crore, was spearheaded by Artha Venture Fund and RiverWalk Holdings, signaling strong investor confidence in the premium accommodation segment.
The funding round attracted notable participation from Kunal Khanna, who leads Vivaldis as founder and CEO, alongside Krishna Jain and several distinguished high net worth individuals and family offices. This diverse investor base reflects the growing recognition of organized managed living spaces as a promising sector in India’s evolving real estate landscape.
Strategic Growth Vision
Since its establishment in 2018, Tribe Stays has carved a distinctive niche under the leadership of founder and CEO Yogesh Mehra. The company operates through three specialized brands, each targeting specific market segments. Tribe Student Accommodation focuses on student housing, Tribe Commune caters to co living requirements for working professionals, while Tribe Suites provides executive apartments for corporate clients and business travelers.
“This funding round is a strong validation of Tribe’s vision to redefine how young India experiences living,” said Yogesh Mehra, founder and CEO of Tribe Stays. “Our focus has always been to go beyond just accommodation and deliver a premium lifestyle experience through thoughtfully designed spaces, hospitality driven services and a vibrant community.”
Aggressive Expansion Roadmap
Currently operating 650 beds in Pune, Tribe Stays has outlined ambitious growth targets. The company plans to add 1,000 additional beds within the current year, ultimately scaling to 25,000 beds across India’s major metropolitan centers, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Gurugram.
“We believe Tribe is emerging as one of the most promising players in India’s organized managed living space,” said Anirudh Damani, Managing Partner at Artha Venture Fund. “The company addresses a massive, underpenetrated market in premium accommodations for student and professional housing with an asset light, hospitality led approach that is both scalable and profitable.”
Jai Sumer Singh, co-founder and partner at RiverWalk Holdings, added, “Tribe is well positioned to address the gap that exists in the premium managed co-living space in India. Scaling sustainably in this category requires deep hospitality DNA coupled with real estate excellence.”
The company also intends to forge partnerships with educational institutions and corporations seeking reliable long term accommodation solutions for their students and employees, further diversifying its revenue streams.
